Spanning an area 10,000 sq meters large, Siam Ocean World is located in the basement of Siam Paragon Center, Bangkok's huge world-class shopping center. It is hugely popular with locals and tourists alike, and draws crowds of visitors. Siam Ocean World is quite possibly one of the most unique and fascinating sites you will visit during your stay in Bangkok.

Siam Ocean World is home to over 30,000 salt and fresh water animals, from more than 400 species. These include Stingrays, Ragged-tooth sharks, sea urchins, Blue Ringed Octopus, Giant Spider Crabs, Leafly Sea Dragons, and Seals and so much more.

Siam Ocean World boasts world-class marine exhibits, with an under-ocean tunnel, a panoramic, 2.8 million litre Oceanarium oceanarium that offers a 360-degree view of the aquarium's teeming marine life, a rain forest display, and a reef tank eight metres deep.

Siam Ocean World is organized into seven 7 different zones, each one focusing on a different marine environment. You will get to walk through each environment from behind the safety of plexi-glass walls.

  • In the Weird and wonderful, you will find an eclectic collection of rare aquatic creatures such as gigantic spider crabs and pineapple fish.
  • The Deep Reef features a variety of stunning coral reefs and reef dwellers from all around the world.
  • In the Living Ocean zone, observe the principle of "survival for the fittest." At work in an aquatic environment.
  • In the rainforest, explore the complex interrelationships between animals and plants, which make up an ecosystem.
  • At the Rocky Shore Zone, learn how animals adapt to the survive on the ocean's shores, where pounding waves, the changing tides, and intense sunlight require physical and behavioral adaptation.
  • The Open Ocean zone focuses on predators and prey, the hunters and the hunted, all co-existing in the ocean depths.
  • The Sea Jellies zone showcases jellyfish, those enigmatic, tentacled sea creatures with no bones, no brain, no heart, eyes or ears.

Some of the activities you may enjoy at Siam Ocean World include a ride on the glass bottom boat to get close up with the aquarium's residents. The "touch" pool gives you the opportunity to get a hands-on feel of real live sea creatures. Don't miss the feeding of the seals and of the sharks, which is done twice a day.

Siam Ocean World is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The entrance fee is 450 baht for adults, and 280 baht for kids 80-120cm tall.
