Ian McKillop The Royal River is a nice enough place to stay a couple of days. That's how long it takes to visit the Grand Palace historic area and the river scene. After that there isn't much to do here unless you simply want to curl up and relax. The pool area didn't seem all that great. The staff are however, very helpful and efficient.
Sean Frasier We stayed for three days and found it great value for money. It's far from any congestion or noisy crowds and it's peaceful to watch the river from the room. You see a lot of barges go across at all times. They have a shuttle service to take you around to the Silom shopping area, but you have to be real quick to reserve a seat for yourself. We lucked out a couple of times and then made it.
Ossie Pratt It's a decent place and you get great service and motivated staff. We had a room right up and had excellent views of the city skyline at night. It's a bit of a bother if you want to go into the city. The taxis cost a lot more if you take them from the hotel. Just walk a bit down and hail one. Make sure you fix the price before you get in.
Andrew Holland i have had the pleasure of staying at this hotel on 3 occasions duing the last 2 months.
it is the perfect location to escape the noise and mayhem of bangkok, though it is in easy reach of some of the best places to visit just walk down to the pier (next to the very good and reasonable restaurant) and take a 10B express boat, fun and cheap.
pay the extra and get one of the huge rooms with a river view and chill on your balcony watching the tugs and barges on the river or even over the river where the royals live!
the hotel is easy and quick to get to from the airport, sure you will need a taxi at night if you want to try the nightlife but metered taxis are so cheap it wont realy matter.
the royal river is not a swanky hotel but it is providing a good level of service in a good location at a very reasonable price. the staff particuarly the reception are very helpful and really try to help you and treat you as a guest really refreshing and a delight to deal with.
all i can say is try the royal river go there with the right attitude and you will have a lovley time. i did.
Torbjorn Jonson Only stayed two nights but good value for the money, especially the breakfast which was splendid!
Distance to town center only negative factor although the boat service was OK at day time.
Graham Yardley Enjoyed our short stay at the Royal River very much. Accommodation was just right for our little party of three including one aged person.
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise due to the varied menu, traditional and local choices. We particularly enjoyed our evening dinner sat outside by the Rivers ide with a superb selection of food.
We have no complaints whatsoever and will certainly stay again when the opportunity arises. Thanks for everything.
