Our stay at the Royal hotel was okay. The place is clean, but a bit dated. The service is good and they are willing to help when requested. For the price it's certainly a good deal when compared to others in the same range. A little renovation would certainly help.

The place was not impressive when we checked it out, but took it anyway because of the great price. But once we got there we found it was perfect. Clean room and bathroom with no water problem or housekeeping issues. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and found it good. It's a short walk to Khao san which is really convenient.

This is a great place for the price. I stayed for two nights and three days and was quite happy with the room. The bed is neat and comfortable. The towels are clean and not too worn out as is often the case with budget joints. Didn't get a chance to dine in, but had breakfast once and it was not too bad. Julia Gill
Thye Royal Hotel Bangkok is not is a little run down, but nothing horrendous.
It is however a fantastic location both for Kao San Road, and for sightseeing, The Grand Palace is in walking distance!
Would recommend it for anyone spending maybe one or two nights in Bangkok before travelling on further afield. Ruth Kent
Great hotel and great service. All staff very helpful. Lovely breakfast and ideal location for Grand Palace etc. Nice pool for swimming.
