The Oriental, Bangkok, has 395 guest rooms. The Oriental's suites have been named after famous authors who have resided at the hotel - for example, Conrad, Maugham, Michener and Greene. Others are named after the ships of Conrad's time that lay at anchor in the river opposite the hotel. There are 41 luxurious suites which are individually furnished and decorated to reflect the origins of its name.
Superior River Wing Room : (Approximately 40 square meters)
Traditional Thai style decorated with Thai silk and teak wood, overlooking the river. Thai silk bedsheets and curtains in every room. A newly renovated, quiet and cosy room, with novel floor plans and direct river views. The well-loved chandeliers, parquet floors and artwork blend perfectly with new armoires, ottomans, sturdy sofas and other furnishings. Some rooms have split level bedroom on upper floor and sitting area on lower floor.

Deluxe Suite : (Approximately 95 square meters)
Jim Thompson Suite is on the north side of the hotel, facing the French Embassy. Deep Siamese red and warm pink accents light up this fabulous interior. Hard-carved furniture based on traditional Thai design is in lacquered and guilded teak.
Kukrit Pramote Suite and Wilbur Smith are on the north and east sides facing the French Embassy. Sumptuously decorated in Thai silk and teak wood. Both bedroom and living room overlook a panoramic view of the river. Spacious living room has the right atmosphere for relaxation, entertainment or business.
Graham Greene Suite features portraits of the author in a rose quartz colour scheme. There are bookshelves featuring Greene's works.
Gore Vidal Suite and SEA Write Suite are on the north and east sides facing the French Embassy. Pale blush colours, refined furniture and deep pile carpets provide an enchanting mix of comfort and stately elegance amid legendary surrounding. Private toilet for guests is available in the sitting room.
John Le Carre Suite has a distinctly English, masculine quality. Living room has the feeling of a study with deep green leather, writing desk and a large recessed library featuring all of Le Carre's novels. Same masculine feel is carried through to the bedroom, which has a traditional armchair and disc table for late-night reading. Located on south and west sides overlooking the pool.
Barbara Cartland Suite. Living room is a harmony of salmon-coloured floor coverings and gray on white fabrics, contrasting with deep stained woods and a beautifully glass-panelled library case. Bedroom features floral oil paintings hung on gentle floral wall coverings. Pastel quilted bedcovers and richly stained, ornately carved headboard.
Bicentennial Suite is on the south and west sides overlooking the pool. Decor is a sophisticated blend of contemporary European and traditional Thai styles. Exclusive fabrics blend warmly in aubergine, garnet and caramel. Deep sofas and built-in bookshelves lend a thoughtful air to the room which is embellished with memorabilia recording the past two centuries of the city's history. Truly a retreat in which to relax.
The Captain Anderson Suite is on the south and west sides overlooking the pool. Entering this suite is entering a ship's stateroom of the 1880s. A sea-going timepiece and deep sea chests lend their typical brass accents to the nautical colour scheme in cool Copenhagen blue and pewter gray. Photographs of the period complete the illusion of a nostalgic look at our maritime past.
