Steeped in interesting history, Lopburi is full of temple ruins, which mainly date from the Ayutthaya period. Lopburi is located almost 150 kilometers north east of Bangkok, reachable in a day trip.

The temple ruins in Lopburi take you back in time: for example, the Prang Sam Yot was originally a Hindu shrine and was converted into a Buddhist temple during the reign of King Narai.

Lopburi is also well known for its Crab-eating Macaques roaming the ruins and begging for food.
