Bangkok's Climate and Weather
Bangkok Weather | Bangkok weather and travel seasons
Sitting just a few degrees north of the equator, Bangkok enjoys a hot, humid tropical climate. The weather is warm all year round, with temperatures that get as high as the mid-30's all through the year. The city's weather is largely influenced by the region's monsoon winds. The Thais are known to say that there are only two seasons in Thailand: Hot and Hotter. This certainly holds true in Bangkok, where it never gets cold; temperatures typically remain warm all year round. Officially, however, Bangkok has three seasons: theh cool, dry season (from November to March), the hot season (from March to May), and finally the hot season (from June to October). The Cool, Dry Season in Bangkok November through March is Bangkok's cool season, and the city's driest months. This is a period dominated by the northeast monsoon, which blows in overland from indo-china. It is also the most popular time of the year for tourists and foreign visitors. Bangkok's average temperatures in this season range from the mid twenties to thirties. There is relatively low humidity, and with minimal rain showers. The pleasant, comfortable weather conditions make this the peak tourist season in Bangkok. The Hot, Humid Season in Bangkok Bangkok has a relatively brief hot season, which runs from March through May is the hottest period of the year, with daytime temperatures continually above thirty ºC, and getting as high as 40ºC. It is also incredibly humid.
