Can't find what you are looking for? Tell our Bangkok experts in what you are interested in and we will add it to our Bangkok Restaurants. Recommended Restaurants in Bangkok for BusinessThe problem with doing business in Bangkok is, you can spend all your time in a hotel and never see the city itself. So, why not combine dinner and sightseeing on a Horizon buffet dinner cruise, a feat of food and fantastic sights departing from the Shangri-La pier, and taking in the illuminated temples and palaces along the river. Alternatively, head for the stars and dine at the Bangkok Sky Restaurant on top of the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, Bangkok. The international and Thai buffet is good value, the view unbeatable. OK, not totally unbeatable, as the Sirocco restaurant and Sky Bar at the State Tower is a very popular restaurant at sunset, being 63 floors up in the open air. A good view of the river is also assured through the vast glass wall at Jester's, at the Peninsula Hotel Bangkok. The Pacific Rim style menu is set off with an eclectic decor combining natural bamboo and cold steel. For a meal with a difference, you can literally pick your own food at the Seafood market and Restaurant at Sukhumvit Soi. Choose your ingredients, learn how they can be prepared, then the waiter loads up your trolley, and fifteen minutes later it all turns up, cooked to perfection. There are also a myriad of excellent foreign restaurants in Bangkok, including a clutch of top French restaurants in the Bangrak district. D'Sens at the Dusit Thani Hotel won't be cheap, but it will be classy and the chefs are all trained in France. Recommended Restaurants in Bangkok on a BudgetThe best food in Bangkok is right under your nose, on the streets. Every corner reveals carts and stalls selling a mouthwatering array of delicacies, some of which you will recognise, most of which you probably won't. Watch where the workers go to buy their food before they catch the river ferries, for example, and by much arm waving and smiles, tell the vendor "I'll have what they had." For less than a bus fare in Europe, you'll end up with an armful of plastic cones, bags and boxes filled with hot and cold Thai treats. Every market will be brimming with great things to eat, so you need never go hungry. However, always drink bottled water over fruit juices, unless they are freshly squeezed, to avoid any need for a rapid exit to a bathroom... At Lemongrass, on Sukhumvit 24, the tastes of the street hawkers remains in a cheap as chips restaurant that bursts with flavours. As in any foreign city, the best food is usually found where the locals area eating. Be brave and venture beyond air-conditioned restaurants with English menus. Food shops, or raan ahann, specialise in serving one type of food, such as chicken rice, and are open all day. Curry lovers will be spoilt for choice, too, especially in the Little India district of Pahurat, at prices that will never even remotely dent your budget. Royal India, on Thanon Chakraphet, is probably the most established establishment. Vegetarians might struggle a little at first, but the backpacker district of Khao San has several guesthouses that offer veggie menus. Recommended Trendy Restaurants in BangkokBED Supperclub; is it a restaurant, is it a club? Who cares, because it is certainly fun! Recline like a Roman emperor on piles of white cushions, as your meal is served onto tatami tables in front of you. (Come on a Saturday, and chef Dan Ivarie prepares a surprise fixed menu.) Of course, it's not just the food or the über-industrial cool white design that makes the Supperclub special; it's the fact that it turns into a heaving and trendy nightclub once the food is gone, so you can burn off the calories with your best moves. It's hip, clever, sassy and irresistible.
