For a night out on the town in Bangkok, several locations offer up some of the best live music around. Mix and mingle with the locals and other tourists in these hot spots while enjoying the sounds of live music from area bands and performers.
Bar Bu Ree is located at 59 Sukhumvit Soi 63, Ekamai Road near the Ekamai Skytrain. The clientele is mostly local Thais and Japanese so the menu that is offered contains traditional Thai food and sushi. Bar Bu Ree has a large bar that severs a wide selection of drinks. Entertainment is live music performed by three different bands nightly. The music selection is varied all the way to classic rock so at least at some point there will be something being performed that caters to your tastes in live music.
Bombay Bar is located at Soi Thonglor and near the Thong Lor Skytrain. This is a hot spot for the local Thais and gives a good insight into how the locals like to party it up. This bar has two floors with mainstream music for a certain time then live music from a rock band playing Thai songs. Bombay Bar is the scene those in their early 20s.
Mojo's is located at 10/20 Sukhumvit Soi 33/2, Wattana and is near the Phrom Phong skytrain. This is a must visit venue for those who love the blues and jazz. A nightly occurrence at Mojo's is one out of the five local bands will perform with live music centering on the blues. Barbeque and burgers are served up as well as a wide selection of drinks at Mojo's.
Brown Sugar is located at Soi Sarasin, Lumpini near the Lumpini subway. It is here that you will find that universal jazz atmosphere. Weekly guest bands stay in rotation here and at 11 pm live music jazz is performed by two resident bands. The smoky air and the sounds of perfect jazz will draw you in and hold you captive at Brown Sugar.
The Internationally famous Hard Rock Cafe is located at 424/3-6 Soi 11, Siam Square near the Siam Skytrain. Here you will find some of the best live music around. For those who have never been to a Hard Rock Cafe before, this is an experience of a lifetime. The name says it all when it comes to the live music you will hear. Nothing but good rock will be performed at this venue.
